3 February 2012: Our most recent news is that we have received planning permission to turn Grade I listed Askham Hall (just a couple of miles from the George and Dragon) into a unique, boutique hotel, which will eventually have 25 rooms when completed – although we plan to open in the summer with 13. These plans will safeguard the future of the historic building. Paul will be in charge of the restaurant there too and we’ve got some really exciting plans for the garden, which will be open to the public with a café. Work will commence when we receive formal notification in the next few weeks.
